ONLINE FAQs

Q1:	Do I need to pay?
	Nope! The portal and watching Catch-Up TV on the site is free to anyone with a computer and an internet connection.

Q2:	Do I have to sign up?
	You’ll need to register to watch the videos and comment, but it’s quick n easy and free of course. (Sign me in!)

Q3:	Who do I contact if I ever encounter any problems whilst downloading?
	If you're having any problems, please contact the station (603-7728 8282) or email your enquiries to us (online@8tv.com.my) and the entire team will receive your message.

Q4:	When can I see full episodes of my favorite shows after the TV broadcast?
	Full episodes are posted within a few hours of their being aired on TV.

Q5:	Do you have any deleted scenes or exclusive footage of any of your shows online?
	Yes, it is available. Be sure to check out for behind the scenes, exclusive interviews and videos, webisodes, clips of your fav TV commercials, promos and bloopers, Web-content only scenes and recaps of previous favorite episodes. Its all in the TV Extra section of each programme.

Q6:	What shows are coming to 8TV online?
	Most of the top shows will be available. However at this early stage there are still some international shows that we haven’t been able to clear rights for. Hopefully this will be resolved very soon. Full episodes of selected shows will be available online at the respective stations Web sites (www.tv3.com.my, www.8tv.com.my, ntv7.com.my, tv9.com.my)

Q7:	Where can I find the listing or schedule of my favorite shows?
	For specific programs and episodes, go to the schedule on www. tv3.com.my, 8tv.com.my, ntv7.com.my, tv9.com.my check your local television listings.

Q8:	I can’t download programs. Why?
	Very soon we will activate this function and you’ll be able to download episodes to your PC to own or rent.

Q9:	I’m a Mac user. Can I still enjoy the same access as PC users?
	Yes, you will be able to watch all free content via stream but for downloaded paid content, you will need to install Windows Media Player 9 or a software that enables playing of WMV files.

Q10:	What is the best web browser for viewing your portal?
	Minimum requirement: PC- Pentium 90 or better with a minimum of 32 MB RAM and Windows 95, or NT 3.5.1 Mac- PowerPC with System 7.1 and 32 MB RAM Connection Speed- 56kbps modem however, for optimal viewing, we recommend a cable modem, DSL or other broadband solution. Browsers- Version 4.0 and above of the following browsers: AOL, Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer. Best viewing is with Mozilla Firefox though. Go get it it’s free too! Screen Resolution-1024 X 768

Q1:	What is the relation / connection between 8TV, TV3, NSTP and Media Prima?
	8TV, TV3 and NSTP are sister companies while Media Prima is the "mother ship" of all these companies. =)

Q2:	Where is 8TV's main office / operating centre?
	Sri Pentas, Bandar Utama, 47800, Petaling Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia.

Q3:	What does it take to be a host in 8TV's in house production programs?
	Young, urban, media-literate, quirky: show us who you are!

Q4:	What's "Interactive TV" on 8TV?
	8TV's Interactive TV features a lot of interactive programs like the 8TV sms chat, Da Funki Monkee (SMS Games) and other sms contests. These programs allows viewers to interact and participate in the show itself!

Q5:	I won a prize but I haven't heard anything from the crew, what do I do?

Q6:	How do I make myself heard on 8TV?
	Call during the cue to call during our live shows, if that doesn't work, speak out in our on-line forums or send your "personal expressions" to the webmaster!

Q7:	What's Paul Moss doing in 8TV?
	Paul Moss is the Network Brand Director of 8TV. Network Brand Director is a fancy name for slave driver =)

Q8:	Do I have to pay to use the 8TV internet (web) services? What's the benefit?
	Of course not! it's absolutely free of charge! Plus, you get to access all the "members only" areas including the forums, contest and promos section, off the record and more!

Q9:	Can I get a job at 8TV?
	Yes! If there's opening that is. Check out our JOBS page for openings!

Q10:	Why is the 8TV's news called Twentyhundred?
	Twentyhundred = 20:00 on a 24hours clock settings, which means 8 o'clock!

Q11:	How do I get in touch with Ahmad Izham Omar, the Chief Operating Officer of 8TV?

Q12:	I'd like to be a part of 8TV's creative team, who do I speak to?
	Yeah, those funky graphics does not come easy! Speak to the man behind the crazily creative 8TV by sending him an email to peterc@8tv.com.my!

Q13:	A guy approached me yesterday and said that I can be a part of the Malaysian Idol crew for season 2? Is that guy for real?
	If he doesn't have an 8TV tag or any authorization letter, HE'S AN IMPOSTER! Call 03-77288282 and tell us your location right away!!!

Q14:	I can't get through to the Ring8 number. Is there any other alternative numbers I can call?
	Just dial 03-27152207 to speak to the customer service personnel.

Q15:	I tried dialling all the numbers on the screen during Mango TV, but none of them works. Are the numbers all that busy or am I experiencing some trouble with the line?
	You might be in the middle of hundreds of others trying to get through, so it's a massive line traffic there! Should you require more information, just dial 03-21661639 to speak to the customer service. =)
