We Are Turning 8 And It's Time To Celebr8te!

PETALING JAYA, 30th December 2011 – WARNING: Content may cause euphoric excitement! It is time to put on your party best, get your dancing shoes ready, mark your calendars and get your closest friends on board because you are about to experience the party of the year! That’s right! 8TV is turning 8 and its time to celebr8te – BIG 8 BASH style!



On Saturday, 7th January 2012, 8TV will redefine just how much fun you can have at one event! The best shows, most captivating dancers and most fascinating acts, all under one roof! Beginning with ground activities at 4.00pm, immerse yourself in high-energy, celebrity coated, fun-filled activities, where for one day the 1Utama, Open Car Park will be converted into a swanky event space and partiers will be entertained to the likes of some of the most celebrated artistes and performers for a staggering 8 hours! The BIG 8 BASH sees a two hour Chinese concert transition into a two hour Urban concert, that will ultimately lead to the eventual countdown of 8TV’s 8th Anniversary, which falls on the 8th of January 2012. Yup, we’re screaming 8 in everything –and that’s why it’s going to be nothing less than ex8ting!

Experience the reeling sensation of the thunderous bass from our local bands including, The Azenders, Kyoto Protocol, and Enterprise, while the sounds of Henley Hii, Karen Kong, Ultimate Power Star winner and 1st runner up, Vivian and Kopi, Reza Salleh as well as Liyana Fizi seduce your ears. Moreover, get your adrenalin pumping when Joe Flizzow, Sona One, Altimate, Arabyrd and Showdown 2011 Champions, Elecoldxhot heat things up. Adding to the heart pumping sweaty anticipation of it all, are international acts Nicholas Teo and Aga, winner of Super Idol Season 4 who will also be part of the celebr8tion.

“8 years ago, we had a big dream and an idea and in this 8 years, 8TV has grown thanks to the viewers as well as the dedication and hard work of the team that make up the 8TV family. Of course we have faced obstacles and hurdles in these years, but we’ve jumped high and grown stronger through it all. 8TV teased the public about its 8th anniversary in the beginning of October 2011, when the 8TV eco friendly FUN HUNT took place. The event saw celebrities, media and fans take part in a day filled with environmentally friendly games and recycling challenges in efforts to make the world a greener place. The flimflam of the celebration then kicked off on the 12th of October 2011, which marked the 88 day countdown to the 8th Anniversary. Apart from that, the 8TV mascot Pow Pow also went on a frenzy when he invaded Media and Client territory, throwing his diapers all over the place. This big baby, was also seen taking a humble step in means of spreading the joy of the celebration, when he joined the 8TV Celebr8ty Char8ty Drive, that had 8TV personalities along with selected viewers, visit the Selangor Handicapped & Mentally Retarded Children Centre in Ampang, on the 1st of December 2011.
