A hunt began for the new faces of the 8TV Quickie in October 2009, called the 8TV Quickie Search. Five different locations were ambushed; each of which had tons of participants but many were rather odd, funny (not in a good way) and unprepared. Only a handful gave us hope and showed us great potential.
By the end of the auditions, we were left with hundreds of profiles but only six to be chosen. After much discussion and reviews, we selected Naqib, Vix and Shakir for the boys; Megan, Samantha and Jamie for the girls.

To test the Top 6 further, we gave each of them an event to cover. This was to see if they knew how to handle interviews, provide good host links and lead the direction of the Playback. The final challenge for them was to host the 8TV Quickie LIVE on Sundays

Now, the 8TV Quickie Search has come to an end – Megan and Naqib have been crowned as the new faces of the 8TV Quickie. We place much hope in them to spice up the 8TV Quickie for 2010 onwards. Nevertheless, we believe that they need not worry for they have Zher, Prem and Julie by their side.
